Opening Day for the 2026 season officially kicks off today.

With the arrival of Opening Day, The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially announced their 26-man roster to open up the season.

They will begin the season with 13 pitchers, 12 position players and Shohei Ohtani.

Starting pitchers — Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, Emmet Sheehan, Justin Wrobleski

Right-handed relievers — Edwin Díaz, Blake Treinen, Ben Casparius, Will Klein, Edgardo Henriquez

Left-handed relievers — Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia, Jack Dreyer

Infielders — Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Miguel Rojas, Santiago Espinal, Alex Freeland

Outfielders —  Teoscar Hernández, Andy Pages, Kyle Tucker, Alex Call

Catchers —  Will Smith, Dalton Rushing

Two-way player — Shohei Ohtani 2026 marks the first time Will Klein and Edgardo Henriquez will be on the Opening Day roster.

Klein was the Dodgers hero on the mound for Game Three of the World Series, recording four scorless innings and notching the win in the 18-inning fiasco against the Toronto Blue Ja.

Henriquez’s 2025 season took a left turn as he dealt with a left foot injury to begin his campaign. But when he returned to the team in late-July, his contributions to the bullpen down the strecth were to hard to ignore, capping off the year with a 2.37 ERA.

Although Santiago Espinal has made a Opening Day roster before, not many expected him to make it this time around for the Dodgers.

The 31-year-old former All-Star hit .412 and clubbed two homeruns while driving in 13 RBI in 34 at-bats in his Spring Training stint.

His defensive versatility is what stands out the most to the Dodgers and manager Dave Roberts, who clarly stated his role for 2026. Roberts stated that Espinal could act as a third baseman replacement for Muncy if they so happen to face off against a southpaw.

Espinal can also dive into playing some first base if Roberts decides to give Freeman days off and could potentially rotate with Rojas at second base.

On Wednesday, it was revealed who would be placed on the injured list to begin the season. Players like Bobby Miller, Gavin Stone, Tommy Edman, Brusdar Graterol, Blake Snell, Brock Stewart and Landon Knack find themselves shelved to begin the season.
